American (English) remake of the French series HPI (2021)

Line of Events

Follow Morgan, a single mother of three, as she uses her exceptional mind to help solve a crime by rearranging evidence during her shift as a cleaner at the police department. Despite his very high IQ, excellent memory and extensive knowledge of secret matters, Morgan makes a number of basic mistakes in the law that anyone who has ever watched a legal show on TV, he knows that he should not commit.

It also cannot be used to obtain other evidence — a violation of the “fruit of the poisonous tree” legal doctrine

For example, in the first episode, she takes out of a locked safe in the legal office of the suspect-victim a document that will never be admissible in court – illegally obtained evidence. In episode 2, she is reminded to wear gloves before taking evidence to a crime scene, and in episode 3, she takes all the documented evidence from the police station, completely breaking the chain of custody and making everything she took also inadmissible in court .

Remake of HPI (2021)

Brushing up her TV resume after stepping away from Always Sunny and wrapping up her role on The Mick, Olson glides onto the screen in a not-quite-frame-by-frame remake of the French procedural, but she’s definitely a hit. Throughout the episode, you can tell that Olson was drawn to this project by the way he portrays a struggling, strong-willed, capable woman.

The first episode was well done, although the editing could use some work

Comedy is woven into its delivery, much like the irony of the French version. However, what makes this series better is that it keeps you captivated by an experienced cast led by Judy Reyes, whose stern eyes and soft voice encourage viewers to develop a sense of sympathy for the players her character tries to gather around her to achieve justice.

The series would have raised a lot of walls between Reyes and Olson
