Mike Tyson grew up poor and troubled and he wound up rich and famous. His mother died when he was 16 and he was taken in by his legendary trainer Cus D’Amato. Before Tyson was 13 years old, he had been arrested more than 30 times. He needed boxing champs by division and, as we later found out, boxing needed him.
Zhang was born on May 2, 1983, in Qianzhangying village, Shicaoji Township, Shenqiu County, Zhoukou, Henan Province, China. Zhang is the tallest member of his family. By 15 years of age, he was 1.95 meters tall and weighed 120 kg. His father, Zhang Tan (1948–2020 ), was 1.76 meters tall while his mother, Deng Yuying stood just a shade over 1.6 meters tall. His elder brother and elder sister are of a more normal height.
Everyone knows Mike Tyson really cherishes his face tattoo, right? But guess what? The guy who actually inked it, S. Victor Whitmill, seems to love it even more. He even went ahead and sued Warner Bros. over them using it without his permission! Crazy, huh?

Mike Tyson returned to the boxing ring on Saturday night, at the age of 54, and fought out to what was adjudged to be a draw in the much-hyped bout against Roy Jones Jr. The two men pocketed a hefty sum for their appearances and the world could revel once again in the sight of one of the greatest fighters the heavyweight division has ever seen.
Joseph Parker was floored twice by Zhilei Zhang but otherwise outboxed his foe for large stretches of the heavyweight fight to earn a majority-decision victory on Friday evening in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
On March 4, 1985 Tyson stepped into the ring for his first professional fight. He had studied boxing history and watched old newsreel footage of the great fighters of the past and wanted to emulate them. He entered the ring without fanfare, without a robe, without socks, dressed in black with the most menacing and intimidating glare in boxing. Many of his opponents were
For expositional purposes, Finding Mike will cover Tyson’s teenage experiences that motivated him to become a boxer. The film will also show how Tyson became Heavyweight champion, at age 20, by knocking out Trevor Berbick in 1986. From there, the Tyson biopic will underline the subject’s pop culture persona, leading up his shocking 1990 loss to James “Buster” Douglas. Also, it’s impossible to ignore Tyson’s 1991 arrest for rape, and how he lost several years of his boxing prime after being incarcerated from April 1992 to March 1995. Upon being released, Tyson won four consecutive boxing matches before losing twice to Evander Holyfield, with one of the bouts involving Tyson’s biting off a chunk of his opponent’s ear – now an infamous pop culture moment from the late ’90s.
It is this notoriety that brought public fascination into who he is as an individual, and Hulu, as a part of its 2022 lineup, released Mike, a limited series looking to untangle the threads of Tyson’s life. However, Mike is not an authorized biopic, and Tyson has been reported to not be happy about the limited series’ creation. At the beginning of August 2022, he posted on Instagram that he did not support the Hulu series and that they sold the rights to his life story without giving him a cut of the payment. But this is not the first time a production company has adapted his story into entertainment—HBO came out with Tyson in 1995, which took an extensive look at the community and people around him rather than Tyson himself. Regardless, Hulu moved forward with the limited series and the first couple of episodes have made their way onto the streaming platform. This will not be the only adaptation, as Jamie Foxx, too, will be taking on the role in the near future.
Round 12: Uppercut counter from Ford. Ball blasts through his opponent’s guard with heavy blows, but takes a big right hook counter. Uppercut from Ball now. HUGE LEFT from Ford and Ball is hurt. Still firing back, the challenger is giving it everything. Another BIG left from the champion, but Ball will not wilt. Both men trade pure fire down the stretch.
Of course, Paul brought up the “Gotcha Hat” tattoo. When his brother Logan fought Floyd Mayweather, Jake stole Mayweather’s hat, leading to a wild brawl. Paul infamously yelled, “gotcha hat” and immediately got a tattoo.
It was in the lead-up to the bout that ‘Iron’ Mike decided to get his now signature Māori warrior tattoo. Reportedly done by celebrated tattoo artist S. Victor Whitmill from Las Vegas, the story goes that Tyson originally wanted hearts on his face. However, Whitmill refused to go with the concept. Given that he has himself led the life of a warrior, the former heavyweight champion liked it when Whitmill introduced the Māori ‘tā moko’, a permanent ink decking the faces of Māori tribesmen from New Zealand.
