Original stories set in the worlds of iconic video games are featured in this animated anthology series. Video games have made the big leap to the screen, and we’re celebrating the genre with a closer look at over 50 video game adaptations in films and shows. Clive Standen reprises his voice role as Demetrius Titus, the main character in the video game Space Marine 2. The episode takes place after the events of the game. Refers to Film Junk Podcast: Episode 973: Carry-On (2024). The animation is beautiful, that’s undeniable. Although I try to get excited about such short episodes. They’re like apprenticeships. You can’t fully immerse yourself because you know it’s over before you even identify with the characters. It was nice to see the celebrity involvement. Reeves and Arnie play enjoyable roles. It’s a little too experimental and lacks depth for me. Also, if there was a choice of source material. I think I would have chosen a completely different set of games to appreciate. The Pacman episode was okay. However, this was a demonstration of artistic freedom taken to its absolute limit. At least that made me laugh. Overall, I found the entire series a bit underwhelming. 6 for visuals.
