The UK allowed filming in the Foreign Secretary’s office, a rare distinction for any film or screen production, especially an American one

Line of Events

In the midst of an international crisis, Kate Wyler, a career diplomat, lands a prestigious job she is not prepared for, with tectonic consequences for her marriage and political future. The producers convinced the American and British governments to allow them to use real locations as filming locations for the series, including the still-new American embassy (at Nine Elms), which opened in 2018.

It was featured in the 75th Primetime Emmy Awards (2024)

The only location that was off-limits was Winfield House, the real residence of the American ambassador. Although it is aptly described as occupying the largest residential plot (11 acres) in London outside of Buckingham Palace, the producers used a country house outside the city for filming purposes.

As hard as it may seem to believe, this series is also “fresh” It is truly original – there has never been anything like it before

Something else of great significance happens halfway through the first episode, and somehow the people who make the trailers for this drama have managed to convince the people who make the trailers not to include it – or even to allude to it. I’m only halfway through the second episode, but I can already tell that it’s not like other shows or books in the spy/thriller genre.

The acting is very, very believable

It’s also refreshing in a way because it’s not dominated by the paranoia that plagues the Australians and others. The writing is slick; the plot and dialogue flow seamlessly together.
