In the midst of an international crisis, career diplomat Kate Wyler is thrust into a high-profile job she’s not suited for, with tectonic consequences for her marriage and political future. The producers convinced the US and British governments to allow them to use real-life locations as filming locations for the series, including the still-newly-opened US embassy (at Nine Elms), which opened in 2018.

The only location was Winfield House, the real-life residence of the US ambassador

Although it’s accurately described as the largest residential estate in London (11 acres) outside Buckingham Palace, the producers used a country house outside the city for filming. ).

As hard as it may be to believe, this series is also ‘fresh’. Something else of note happens halfway through the first episode, and somehow the drama’s creators managed to convince the trailer makers not to include it – or even hint at it.

The writing is neat; the plot and dialogue flow seamlessly

I’m only halfway through the second episode, but I can already tell that this is unlike any spy/thriller genre show or book. It’s also somewhat refreshing because it’s not dominated by the kind of paranoia that plagues Australians and others.

The acting is very, very authentic
