It follows three very different families competing for the same 1920s Spanish-style villa that they believe will solve all their problems. Dennis Leary and Ray Romano both starred in the Ice Age franchise (from 2002 to present). I was surprised to see the show rated as low as it is, but it made more sense as many reviews explained how they couldn’t get past the first episode. The show is a mysterious, slow burn that may not be for everyone. I personally found it funny and entertaining with Lisa Feldman’s signature tone, which I love. I really like the cast and everyone’s performances. I wasn’t sold on Ray Romano at first due to my prejudices (I couldn’t for the life of me separate him from Everybody Loves Raymond), but that wore off pretty quickly. All the different characters have their own side stories, creating a tangled web of chaos that gradually, if not completely, unravels. By the last episode, I was pretty invested in the story, despite the main plot being developed very early on. I’m not mad about it, though. I’d love to see more of this show, and I really hope they get a second season.
